A mysterious thief steals a precious stone from a religious order parading it through the village. However Xena and Gabrielle stop him in his tracks and discover it's Hercules' friend, Autolycus, the king of thieves. Xena asks his help in stealing something for some friends of hers. |

Xena takes Autolycus to a nearby tavern where she tells him about the item he needs to recover and in order to get near it, he will need to pretend to be a well known villain by the name of Centares. Before they depart, Xena takes him to meet her friends and then to the market to pick out some outfits. |

Xena and Autolycus devise a plan to convince the other passengers that he really is Centares. Unfortunately it doesn't go to plan as Autolycus forgets about Xena hanging from the side of the boat and proceeds to lunch. Fortunately she's alright and gets revenge by choking him with a grape. |

Xena and Autolycus are shown to their room and are then given a presentation of the weapon they're there to steal back. Xena ends up having to perform a dance for the other guests while Autolycus gets a copy of the key to the security system, however things go wrong when the host is found dead and the weapon gone. |

Xena and Autolycus are called to an emergency meeting when the others discover the death, but upon returning to their room, the pair discover the weapon has been hidden in their bed. They decide to return it to its original place in an attempt to catch the thief out, but things go awry when they are almost discovered. |

Xena and Autolycus are discovered as imposters as the real Centares shows up. What's worse is that he has Gabrielle and is about to use pressure points to kill her. Fortunately the three manage to get away, but Xena is still determined to recover the stolen item for her friends. |

Xena, Autolycus and Gabrielle go back to face Centares at the demonstration of the weapon. Xena fights Centares using pressure points and manages to kill him, unfortunately the weapon is opened and starts to incinerate people. By not running away the three are spared a fiery death and the box, containing the ten commandments, is returned. |
