Musicals, demon babies, repetitive days and doppelgängers, it's third time lucky, it's season three!
Season Three gets off to a 'Fur(y)ious' [apologies for the terrible pun] start as the Furies hex Xena and condemn her to persecution and madness, almost causing her to kill her own mother. Xena and Gabrielle's friendship is pushed to breaking point as Gabrielle's evil daugher, Hope, returns; killing Xena's son, Solan, and instigating the rift between the two friends. Relationships are mended following the light-hearted musical journey through the fictional land of Illusia, but it doesn't last as Hope reappears, more powerful than before, as the season comes to a close.

Gabrielle's Hope
Following their escapades in Britannia, Gabrielle is shocked to learn she is with child. Given that the child's 'father' is the evil entity, Dahak, suspicions are abound as to the nature of the baby: is it good or evil? After a ridiculously short pregnancy, Gabrielle gives birth to a baby girl and names her Hope but it's not long before her joy turns to despair as the child begins to kill.
Despite witnessing the bizarre and somewhat disturbing birth of Gabrielle's Hope, no farm animals were harmed or traumatized during the production of this motion picture. |

Maternal Instincts
Xena and Gabrielle visit the centaur village where Xena's son, Solan, lives. Meanwhile, a small child - who we later discover is Gabrielle's evil daughter, Hope - releases Callisto from the lava pit in which Xena entombed her. The villainous pair set about destroying Xena's life and when Hope kills Xena's son, the friend's relationship is pushed to breaking point. After poisoning her daughter, Gabrielle departs separately from Xena and the rift-arc begins.
Xena and Gabrielle's relationship was harmed during the production of this motion picture. |
